The "Treskilling Yellow " or 3 Skilling Banco was discovered by a 14-year-old boy in 1885. Georg Backman found out that a stamp dealer from Stockholm was purchasing the first postage stamp of Sweden, the Skilling Banco for seven Swedish kronor each for a 24 and 3 Skilling Bancos.

When Georg visited his grandmother one Christmas, he was permitted to went through her old letters. So Georg removed all the stamps but found a lot of 4 Skilling Banco, which was the letter rate postage at that time, and found only a single 3 Skilling Banco.

However, Georg still took the 3 Skilling Banco to the Stockholm dealer named Lichtenstein. Lichtenstein was surprised when he got a glimpse of the stamp. However, he was a little doubtful because the stamp was color yellow whereas the real color of the 3 skilling was blue-green. No one knows the real story why the 3 Skilling Banco became yellow. Nevertheless, the stamp dealer still gave Beckman his 7 kronor.
